Women who are in the process of refugee and migration are more likely to be subjected to violent situations and often have fewer opportunities to defend themselves. Among other things, this increased vulnerability is due to the fact that many women and girls are unaware of their rights, are unable to inform themselves or are socially isolated.
The Survivor Website is an online resources tools being developed by the IRC, Hellas within the SURVIVOR project frame, to provide toolkits and other resources to agencies and practitioners in Europe supporting the integration and resettlement of refugees. Illustrative website topic areas include interpretation and language access, service delivery, community engagement and integration, economic empowerment, and psychosocial support. The resources and toolkits will draw on evidence-based practices from Europe and other countries as well as decades of experience supporting refugee resettlement in EU. Resource development and learning opportunities will focus on topics and issues that are pertinent to multiple European contexts with an emphasis on transferrable lessons learned and best practices.
A model for collaboration on systems strengthening will be provided across public entities and civil society actors to adapt/ use the resources and tools within their contextual and organisational capacity.
While the SURVIVOR website offers cross-border learning and the innovative sharing of best practices, the unrestricted nature of site access could potentially improve prevention and response to GBV to p[protection organizations in Greece and EU.
